Happy Birthday (Sinhala: හැපි බර්ත් ඩේ) is a 2022 Sri Lankan Sinhala action mystery thriller film directed by Aruna Jayawardena[1] and produced by The Capital Maharaja Organization Limited as a Stein Film, and distributed by M Entertainments.[2] The film stars Dilhani Ekanayake and Isuru Lokuhettiarachchi in lead roles whereas Tashi Kalidasa, Yohani Hettiarachchi, Surya Dayaruwan and Randika Goonetileke made supportive roles.[3]
The premiere of the film was held in April 2022 at the Scope City Cinema, Colombo.[4] The film received mixed reviews from critics.[5]
Ginimal Pokuru (Sinhala: ගිනිමල් පොකුරු, lit. 'Flowers of Fire') is a 2021 Sri Lankan Sinhala adult romantic film directed by Udayakantha Warnasuriya.[1][2] The film is co-produced by Prasad Rodrigo, Bandula Gunawardena, Krishantha Hettiarachchi, Nishantha Jayawardena, Udayanga Suresh, Suranga de Alwis and Newton Vidanapathirana for U Creations. It stars Isuru Lokuhettiarachchi, Chulakshi Ranathunga[3] and Charith Abeysinghe in lead role whereas Ananda Kumaraunnahe, Dilrufa Shanas and Kumara Wanduressa made supportive roles.[4][5][6][7]

The Game (Sinhala: ද ගේම්) is a 2022 Sri Lankan Sinhala action thriller film directed by Suranga de Alwis and produced by Nishantha Weerasinghe for Sangeetha Films, and distributed by A4Movie.[1] The film stars Ranjan Ramanayake, Sriyantha Mendis and Janith Wickramage in lead roles,[2] whereas Buddhika Jayaratne, Dhananjaya Siriwardena and Wasantha Kumaravila made supportive roles.[3][4] The film revolves around an extremist who started to assassinate a powerful aristocrat, where the theme loosely based on April 21 Easter Sunday Bombings occurred in Sri Lanka.[5]
Kabaddi is a 2021 Sri Lankan sports action film directed by Harsha Udakanda and produced by Nishantha Jayawardena for HU Films and Hiruna Creations.[2][3] It stars Amila Karunanayake and Senali Fonseka in lead roles along with Sriyantha Mendis, Darshan Dharmaraj and Nilmini Kottegoda in supportive roles.[4][5]
The film had its premiere on 16 April 2021.[6] The film is a remake of 2003 Telugu film Okkadu (2003) and inspired by 2004 Indian Tamil film Ghilli.[7]
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a 2021 American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Venom, produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel. Distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is the second film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe and the sequel to Venom (2018). The film is directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel, based on a story she wrote with Tom Hardy who stars as Eddie Brock / Venom alongside Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson. In the film, Brock struggles to adjust to life as the host of the alien symbiote Venom, while serial killer Cletus Kasady (Harrelson) escapes from prison after becoming the host of Carnage, a chaotic spawn of Venom. Venom was intended to be the start of a new shared universe, and plans for a sequel began during production on the first film. Harrelson was cast to make a brief appearance as Kasady at the end of Venom with the intention of him becoming the villain Carnage in the sequel. Official work on the sequel began in January 2019, with Hardy and Harrelson confirmed to return along with Marcel as writer. Serkis was hired as director that August, partly due to his experience working with CGI and motion-capture technology which was an important part of portraying Venom and Carnage in the film. Filming took place at Leavesden Studios in England from November 2019 to February 2020, with additional filming in San Francisco in February. The title was announced in April 2020. The film was primarily inspired by the comic book story arc "Maximum Carnage" (1993) and the 1994 Spider-Man animated series story arc The Venom Saga (1996). Venom: Let There Be Carnage premiered in London on September 14, 2021, and was theatrically released in the United States on October 1, 2021. It was delayed from an initial October 2020 date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film has grossed over $426 million worldwide, making it the eighth highest-grossing film of 2021, and received mixed reviews from critics, although it was generally considered an improvement over its predecessor.

Squid Game (Korean: 오징어 게임; RR: Ojing-eo Geim) is a South Korean survival drama television series streaming on Netflix. Written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, it stars Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, Jung Ho-yeon, O Yeong-su, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung.[2] The series, distributed by Netflix, was released worldwide on September 17, 2021.[3][4]The series centers on a contest where 456 players, drawn from different walks of life but each deeply in debt, play a set of children's games with deadly penalties for losing for the chance to win a ₩45.6 billion prize.[a] Hwang had conceived of the idea based on his own economic struggles early in life as well as the class disparity within South Korea. Though initially scripted in 2008, Hwang had been unable to find a production to support the script until Netflix around 2019 found interest as part of their drive to expand their foreign programming offerings. Hwang wrote and directed all nine episodes himself.
Squid Game received generally positive reviews. Within a week of its release, it became one of Netflix's most-watched programs in several regional markets.
